As Director of Marketing Data Management, you will lead the strategy, governance, and operational excellence of marketing data across the enterprise. This role is ideal for a systems-minded, strategic leader who understands the evolving data landscape and is passionate about enabling personalized, performance-driven marketing. Overview This role leads the strategy and execution of marketing data management practices across Humana’s enterprise marketing organization. You’ll be responsible for ensuring data quality, governance, and accessibility across platforms, enabling teams to activate data confidently and compliantly. You will also champion the shift to a data-driven culture by harmonizing data, improving confidence, and enabling scalable analytics platform architecture and consumption services. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Develop and lead the enterprise marketing data management strategy, including governance, taxonomy, metadata, and lifecycle practices. Serve as a strategic advisor to marketing leadership on data-related risks, opportunities, and innovations. Drive the adoption of data management disciplines across technology and business teams. Data Governance & Quality Establish and maintain data standards, documentation, and stewardship protocols. Monitor and improve data accuracy, reliability, and security in compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and other regulatory frameworks. Implement detective and preventative controls to manage data lifecycle and ensure data confidence. Marketing Analytics Platform & Infrastructure Oversight Oversee architecture and infrastructure of marketing analytics platforms, including data lakes, warehouses, and sandboxes. Manage custom data processing routines (SQL/Python), pipelines, and system integrations. Lead efforts in access management, taxonomy development, and platform scalability. Data Consumption Enablement Design intuitive consumption models and topologies for marketing users. Ensure seamless data integration across systems to support analytics, segmentation, and personalization. Support pods as a data SME, enabling confident data activation and analysis. Team & Program Management Lead and mentor data management teams, including data stewards, analysts, and engineers. Develop and manage competency development plans and performance standards. Maintain a Resource Center repository of educational and operational materials. Monitor and evolve the change and communications strategy for the data management program. Impact This role is foundational to Humana’s ability to deliver personalized, data-driven marketing experiences. Your leadership will ensure our data is not only technically sound but strategically aligned—empowering teams to make smarter decisions and drive better outcomes for members. Required 10+ years of experience in data governance, data operations, or marketing technology Proven success in leading enterprise data initiatives in complex, matrixed environments Strong understanding of data privacy, compliance, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills Preferred Bachelor’s degree in business, Math, Marketing Technology, Information Systems, or related field Master’s degree or certification in Data Governance, Data Management, or related discipline Experience in healthcare, insurance, or regulated industries Familiarity with marketing platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Adobe, CDPs) and cloud data environments (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, AWS) Experience with metadata management, data cataloging, and stewardship tools Ability to translate technical data concepts into business language for non-technical audiences Additional Information Work at Home Information To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense. Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Pay Range The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $168,000 - $231,000 per year This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
