Overview
LMN is currently seeking an outstanding candidate for the position of Director of Finance. The Director of Finance will report to the Managing Partner, be a member of the Management Committee, and will lead an accounting team of 2-3 people. This person will ensure high quality financial tracking and systems for individual projects and the firm as a whole while proactively providing key financial metrics, analysis and trends for firm leadership. Overall, this position will be approximately one-third strategic planning, one-third overseeing day-to-day firm financial operations, and one-third in support of individual projects.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Managing Partner to establish and achieve organizational goals, objectives and strategic plans, exploring growth opportunities and identifying key risks and success factors.
- Direct and oversee all aspects of the finance and accounting functions of the firm including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company\'s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with accounting best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules and related tax filings.
- Develop, mentor, and direct the financial team, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation and the building of an effective team dynamic.
- Work closely with project managers and the Managing Partner to provide recommendations to enhance project and firm financial performance.
- Provide assistance to project managers in negotiating project fees, contracts and insurance for individual projects.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- BS or MBA in Accounting or Finance, preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Public Accountant designation.
- 10+ years in financial leadership roles, preferably in architect/engineering, design or similar professional services related businesses.
- Familiarity with partnerships or pass-through business organizations.
- Regulatory and risk management experience.
- Well organized and a strategic thinker.
- Proven experience in achieving operational excellence.
- Proven experience working in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Comfortable with multi-tasking, resolving competing priorities and meeting project deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team leadership experience with strong mentoring focus.
- A sense of humor.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel is required. Expertise in Deltek Vantagepoint strongly preferred.
Office & Hybrid Hours
LMN employees collaborate in-office on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Fridays are hybrid workdays that allow employees to work in the office, from home, or any location they choose. Core work hours are from 9:30 am - 4:00 pm and provide flexibility for employees to structure their schedules around personal commitments and commuting.
Compensation
This is an exempt position with a pay range of $175,000 - $225,000. Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.

LMN offers medical, dental, and vision insurance to employees and their families, along with an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Depending on the employee’s choice of health insurance coverage, a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and a Health Savings Account (HSA) are available, as well as a Dependent Care FSA for employees with eligible dependents. Employees are also covered by long-term disability insurance and group term life insurance. After meeting eligibility requirements, employees may enroll in the LMN 401(k) plan, which includes discretionary matching and profit-sharing contributions. Employees accrue a minimum of 3 weeks of paid time off (PTO) during their first year and observe 9 holidays, including 2 floating holidays.
