About the Team The Platform Engineering team is part of Parametric IT's Developer Experience department, focusing on developer enablement and system reliability. Responsibilities include collaborating with cloud-native and self-hosted application teams, automating environment provisioning, managing development toolchains, building Kubernetes orchestration, and providing observability through monitoring tools. About The Role The Director, Platform Engineering, will lead a team to strategize and execute initiatives related to developer enablement, automation, and policy adherence. The role requires working with various engineering and operations teams to create runtime environments, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools. Collaboration with other technology leaders to standardize application architecture is essential. Primary Responsibilities Lead and develop a team of Platform Engineers, providing strategic guidance and career development. Transform development practices to be automated, systematic, and standards-based, increasing delivery velocity and reducing risks. Mentor team members and support professional growth. Enhance Developer Experience through tooling and documentation. Work with Quality Engineering to increase test automation in UAT and Production. Collaborate with Morgan Stanley's Developer Enablement team to integrate Parametric's systems. Job Qualifications PRIMARY SKILLS Bachelor's degree required. 10+ years in Platform Engineering (DevOps, SysOps, SRE) with leadership experience. 5+ years in cloud-native solutions, including Cyber Security, IAC, Observability. Experience in senior leadership with multi-year planning. Hands-on contribution to platform solutions. Mentorship of global engineering teams. Expertise in automation strategies, AWS/Azure, Terraform, GitHub, Kubernetes, Java/C#, scripting (PowerShell/Python), and security tooling. Experience with Gen AI tools for development and testing.
