Overview Director, Software Engineering – Asset Management Technology at Fidelity Investments Responsibilities Lead and deliver software solutions that unlock Generative AI capabilities in a financial domain context for investment professionals. Develop and ship first-of-a-kind knowledge-based applications. Collaborate with senior business, architecture, and engineering stakeholders; mentor junior contributors to grow skills in today’s engineering field. Work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on delivering value quickly from concept to production. Qualifications A Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or a relevant field, with ten+ years of industrial experience. Proficient in deploying software products into production capable of handling large-scale data. Strong Python development skills for enterprise solutions. Experience orchestrating solutions within a cloud-based environment. Solid understanding of large-scale application design methodologies, including SOA, microservices, distributed compute, containers, and cloud usage. Understanding of delivering GenAI applications into production that reliably process information in open-ended settings. Strong attention to detail with a passion for validation and verification of software components. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with distributed team members; comfortable working with internal customers and business stakeholders. Team context We are developing a Large Language Model (LLM)-first knowledge stack for investment professionals at Fidelity Asset Management – analysts and portfolio managers across equities, fixed income, high income, and direct lending. The stack will process documents such as analyst reports, earnings notes, spreadsheet models, prospectuses, loan indentures, news reports, and regulatory filings; it will support personalized assistants to aid information consumption and processing tasks. Business and Compliance Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring on-site presence every other week (Mon–Fri) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
