Overview

Position Description: The Director, Specialty Markets within the Alternative Distribution segment will spearhead Ameritas’ growth in emerging distribution opportunities, specifically targeting PEOs, Affinity/Association groups, and the ICHRA market. The purpose of this role is to expand Ameritas’ presence beyond traditional broker distribution channels, leveraging specialized partnerships and new distribution pathways to generate scalable, repeatable growth. By aligning our dental and vision expertise with the unique needs of these specialty markets, the role will create a foundation for growth opportunities that extend beyond current forecasts and position Ameritas as the partner of choice in these evolving markets.

Position Location: The position is remote and does not require regular in-office presence.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, prioritize, and execute strategies to penetrate PEO, Affinity/Association, and ICHRA markets, aligning with Ameritas’ growth objectives.
  • Drive top-line sales by cultivating relationships with decision-makers across PEOs, association leaders, and ICHRA administrators.
  • Collaborate with digital platform partners (BenAdmin, HCM/HRIS, quoting tools) to expand specialty market reach and enable seamless sales enablement.
  • Lead initiatives to socialize and educate National Partners and regional consultants, and association leaders on Ameritas’ specialty distribution offerings and capabilities.
  • Represent Ameritas at industry events, association conferences, and specialty market fairs to promote brand awareness and strengthen sales pipelines.
  • Work closely with RVPs and sales leaders to develop specialty market strategies.
  • Identify, evaluate, and launch pilot opportunities in specialty markets that could scale into national-level distribution pathways.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • More than 10 years of implementing new business experience required; 5+ years of sales experience in specialty markets: PEO, Affinity/Association, and ICHRA markets.
