Position Summary: Reporting to the AVP, Tax, the Tax Director will primarily lead tax-related Statutory tax reporting and lead the integration and coordination of tax reporting and tax compliance processes. The Tax Director will also be a department insurance tax expert and work cross-functionally with other Finance and Accounting professionals and be a “go-to” person when it comes to advising and ensuring conformity with applicable Statutory reporting and federal income tax standards. The Tax Director may also participate in, and support, other activities including but not limited to tax planning, business integration and M&A. Position Responsibilities: Lead Statutory tax reporting and support SEC tax reporting
Lead integration of tax reporting and tax compliance processes
Operate as an insurance tax technical expert
Operate as a technical expert with respect to tax reporting and tax compliance platforms
Manage special tax projects
Position Qualifications 7+ recent years, showing progressive growth, working in (a) public accounting primarily in the insurance sector and/or (b) in-house insurance tax department experience
Advanced working knowledge of SSAP 101; proficiency in ASC 740
Advanced knowledge of corporate and insurance company taxation as applicable to both Life insurers and P&C insurers
5+ recent years with hands-on experience in insurance-specific modules of tax reporting and tax compliance platforms (e.g., Corptax, OneSource, etc.)
Position Qualifications: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Highly effective interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills, with an ability to address complex tax matters in ways that are meaningful and useful to non-tax professionals
Experience creating, developing and delivering effective presentations in PowerPoint
Proven process-improvement and process documentation track record
Ability to analyze and make rationalized recommendations with respect to tax statutes, regulations and guidance
Track record in prioritizing competing demands, sound decision-making and delivering results on tight timelines
Detail-oriented, organized and possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. Occasional travel is possible.

The range for this position is $125,300-208,800. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors.
