Overview Boston or Springfield Hybrid- 3 Days in Office $110K-145K + Bonus This team is responsible for federal and state tax compliance, GAAP and Statutory tax accounting including computations of quarterly and annual income tax provisions, financial statement reporting, and income tax planning and forecasting. Responsibilities Contribute to the analysis and evaluation of income tax calculations aligned with both U.S. GAAP (ASC 740) and statutory frameworks (SSAP 101), including oversight of related financial disclosures Oversee the compilation and submission of federally mandated tax documentation pertaining to domestic life insurance operations and affiliated non-insurance entities Facilitate compliance-related activities tied to both GAAP and statutory financial statement examinations Provide analytical and logistical support during federal tax authority inquiries and examinations Engage in strategic tax initiatives, including transactional structuring, scenario modeling for prospective tax law changes, and long-term capital optimization assessments Cultivate and maintain effective partnerships with both internal stakeholders and external business collaborators Serve as a liaison with independent audit professionals, furnishing timely data and insight to support the end-to-end audit process Conduct in-depth technical analysis on complex tax matters and formally document interpretive positions and findings Qualifications 5+ years of tax accounting experience (GAAP – ASC 740) CPA or MST highly desirable Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field Strong corporate tax technical knowledge Experience with insurance tax accounting, Statutory (SSAP 101) Strong computer skills, including tax compliance software, GL systems and research software Excellent oral and written communication Ability to identify issues, research and recommend effective solutions Strong interpersonal skills: ability to interact and collaborate within the Tax department and across the Company Excellent organizational skills, experience managing a diverse workload and skilled at prioritizing Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Accounting/Auditing and Finance Industries Staffing and Recruiting Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting by 2x
