Overview Gartner is seeking an Analyst to provide research and advisory services to global clients in the US, EMEA, and beyond. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in leveraging technology to enhance financial planning processes and the processes themselves. They will possess a deep understanding of the challenges FP&A leaders face in transforming planning, budgeting and forecasting processes along with a strong grasp of how financial planning technology can address these challenges and benefit CFOs and FP&A leaders. Analysts create essential insights for our clients through published research and client interaction. You will engage with clients daily via videoconference or from the stage at a Gartner event. In every client interaction and every insight, you will assist clients in overcoming complex challenges to improve their performance. Responsibilities Serve as a subject matter expert for FP&A processes and technologies, including planning, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning software. Collaborate with a team of seasoned analysts to develop authoritative research and advice addressing the priorities and challenges of senior finance leaders, focusing on the impact of technology on planning, budgeting and forecasting and selecting the best-fit vendors based on specific use cases and needs. Deliver high-quality advice through face-to-face and video-based presentations and discussions with clients. Stay ahead of developments and issues across financial planning technologies and processes, as well as related areas such as accounting and treasury management. Who you are Gartner analysts are recognized as THE experts. You should know your markets, vendors, trends, and process best practices. Skilled at writing engaging, insightful, and actionable research for business leaders, with content that supports their strategic goals. Excellent collaborator with the ability to quickly build rapport and gain client trust. Confident presenter with a high level of executive presence (prior speaking engagements are a plus). Analytical thinker with the ability to process information quickly and make actionable recommendations. Willing to challenge conventional norms and views. What you'll need 12+ years of experience leading FP&A teams in large multinational organizations with demonstrated experience transforming planning, budgeting and forecasting processes and implementing financial planning software. Strong knowledge of various FP&A automation vendors and technologies associated with financial planning processes, data analysis/modelling. Experience integrating financial planning processes with operational and business strategic plans emphasizing planning agility, scenario planning and integrated business planning. Experience improving forecast accuracy and implementing rolling forecasts to optimize budgeting, utilizing practices such as zero-based budgeting. Established track record as a strategic partner/trusted advisor to the CFO, collaborating on strategic initiatives and financial decision making. Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; CFA/CPA or equivalent certification preferred. Master’s degree preferred. Ability to conduct occasional travel regionally and globally. Salary: A base salary range of 152,000 USD - 190,000 USD; actual salaries vary based on education, experience, and location. Employees may participate in an annual bonus plan or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
