Position will be located in an existing HDR architecture office in the United States.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for business development strategies and overall practice leadership for the Health Sector at local, regional, national, and international levels. Ensure HDR’s Health Sector brand is elevated and maintained through quality design, innovative planning, client service and thought leadership on the facilities we design.
Practice Leadership: Lead ongoing evaluation and assessment of HDR Health Sector practice across the business to identify current and desired capabilities; establish growth strategies to address delivery, resources, and skill gaps; mentor and guide leaders within offices; assist in identifying and recruiting new talent; mentor staff to improve service delivery; assist onboarding for new staff; provide content for standardized reports (bookings vs. goals, pursuit volume, budgets, win rate, etc.); participate on projects to advise clients and add value to teams.
Brand Management: Support strategy for market sector communications to elevate HDR’s brand and thought leadership; assist with external marketing/PR and internal communications; contribute to content for internal meetings and events.
Market Sector Infrastructure: Collaborate on monthly reports about global pursuit activity; create processes for client distribution lists; contribute content for special presentations and events.
Business Development: Lead overall market sector business development with Regional Health Directors, establishing priorities, targets, and budgeting; develop and nurture relationships with key clients; collaborate on research, trend analyses and predictive analytics; support pursuit teams with client capture plans and proposal/interview preparation; identify strategic partnerships to support business initiatives.
Location details: The position is aligned with HDR’s nationwide offices in the United States.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive knowledge and experience within the Health Sector.
Experience in developing and executing targeted market and client strategies.
Advanced credentials (e.g., ACHA, LEED, EDAC) desired.
Willingness to travel.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
Registered Architect.
Minimum of 12 years of industry experience including leadership.
Strong written and verbal communications; strong client management and a track record of growing/leading a practice.
Strong business skills with budgeting, staffing, and operational oversight.
Ability to analyze the marketplace and position HDR strategically.
Active participation in HDR’s employee-owned culture is required.
