Head of Conversions and Mid Cycle Renovations (Essentials and Suites) This leader will strategically develop and lead theMidcycle Renovations and ConversionProperty Improvement Plan (PIP) teams, establishing greater consistency in process and direction across the Americas region.The focus on Midcycle Renovations will be to continue momentum and further develop the implementation of renovation programs that enhance brand standards and guest experience. For Conversions, the emphasis will be on writing effective PIPs that support winning deals and ensure alignment with brand intent in addition to supporting renovations through hotel opening and PIP completion. This team ensures that design and innovative strategies are developed into structurally safe designs and standards that are implemented and maintained by all assigned brands franchise properties in the America’s region. This leader will direct the implementation of design strategies and administration of the Modernization and Standardized Room Décor Programs, prototype programs for current and future of assigned Brands, and other construction design and prototype programs for the Company brands. They will be responsible for developing strategies to enhance the company’s revenues, service, improve quality via consulting with and training direct reports in the use of systems and utilization of available resources in the Americas region. They will develop and maintain plans, budgets and measurement tools targeted to increase performance of key ownership groups. Work to maintain client relationships with Principal Correspondent or Management Company Representatives, Key Accounts, and IHG Owner Association members. Your Day-to-Day Policy & Process Development: Create and implement departmental policies and procedures to support strategic objectives and ensure consistent design standards across all assigned brands. PIP & Plan Review Oversight: Lead the Property Improvement Plan and Plan Review processes, ensuring timely, cost-effective evaluations and consistent training for departmental competency. Design Strategy & Innovation: Guide design strategies for modernization programs, maintain awareness of industry trends, and support the development of innovative, competitive brand standards. Standards & Compliance: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of brand standards, including architecture, engineering, ADA compliance, FF&E, signage, and safety protocols. Prototype & Décor Programs: Support the implementation and upkeep of prototype building designs and the Standardized Room Décor (SRD) program to ensure current and consistent design execution. Leadership & Team Development: Manage and develop the PIP and Plan Review teams through hiring, training, performance management, and fostering a positive, high-retention work environment. Budgeting & Special Projects: Lead budget planning, staffing, and special projects that drive innovation, assess competitive data, and support strategic initiatives across the hotel portfolio. What we need from you Educational Background: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture, Design, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent education and hospitality industry experience. Industry Experience : Over 10 years of progressive experience in architecture, design, construction, and renovations within the hospitality sector. Project Leadership: 5–7 years of experience managing teams and leading complex hotel design, renovation, and construction projects. Project Management Expertise: Proven ability to organize, plan, and execute large-scale projects from concept through implementation. Team Development : Demonstrated success in leading, developing, and managing high-performing teams. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities for conveying technical and legal information to diverse stakeholders. Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of building codes, company license agreements, and related regulations essential to hotel design and construction Location: Atlanta, GA preferred. Open to remote. Our hybrid work structure is an expectation of three (3) days a week in office. This expectation may be adjusted to evolve with the changing needs of the business. The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $194,000 . This role is also eligible for bonus pay (as applicable).
