Acumen (Remote) (Engagement) : Latitude is seeking an experienced in-house contracts counsel to support a dynamic biopharmaceutical company on a fractional contract engagement. The role focuses on commercial contracts with a strong overlay of legal operations responsibilities, ideal for an attorney who thrives in a fast-moving environment and can deliver high-quality work with minimal oversight. This is a fully remote role offering substantial WFH flexibility. The role is suited for a detail-oriented, self-motivated contracts lawyer with experience in life sciences or pharmaceutical sectors, supporting overflow contract drafting, negotiation, and organization work to free up internal legal team members for strategic initiatives. Responsibilities
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a high volume of vendor, services, clinical trial, confidentiality, and consulting agreements
Maintaining, organizing, and improving the company’s contract management systems and workflows
Supporting the in-house legal team by ensuring timely and efficient delivery of contract services
Working cross-functionally with internal business units and stakeholders to shepherd contracts through review and execution
Contributing to the development of templates, playbooks, and legal operations best practices
Basic Requirements
4+ years of experience practicing law with substantial commercial contracts experience
Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or broader life sciences industry
Ability to manage a large volume of agreements efficiently with attention to detail
Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools or legal operations platforms preferred
Excellent academic credentials from an ABA-accredited law school
Excellent analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Strong professional references
Compensation and Benefits Compensation: The annualized pay ranges from $200,000 to $275,000+ on a full-time basis. For contract engagements, pay is based on experience, credentials, location, market conditions, and candidate preferences.
Benefits: Latitude contract professionals are usually W2 employees eligible for full benefits when working in roles for 20 hours/week. Benefits include Group Life, LTD, AD&D, a qualified 401k plan, and a CLE/Professional Expense stipend.
