Siemens Grid Software is accelerating and securing the energy transition with software-led solutions. We are looking for a Lead Power Systems Consultant to join Grid Software’s Power Technologies International (PTI) team. PTI provides business advisory, technical consulting, and simulation software solutions to support the planning and integration of renewables, storage, and FACTS into the electrical grid. This remote position is based in the contiguous U.S., serving clients in the WECC Region.
Role focus: perform large-scale simulations of electrical transmission systems for Utilities, Regional Transmission Organizations, and energy asset owners; mentor others on the team.
What you will be working on
Performing/leading consulting engagements related to power grid analysis and design, system dynamics and transients, system interconnection, and grid code compliance.
Managing/supporting project execution, tracking project progress, and adjusting scope, schedule, budget, and quality as needed.
Producing reports and presentations with study results in collaboration with team members.
Maintaining client relationships to ensure satisfaction, analyzing business requirements, and identifying opportunities for further business.
Supporting proposal preparation by developing project plans, budgets, and timelines.
Providing mentoring and technical development to junior consultants.
Developing automation scripts to streamline repetitive tasks, reduce errors, and boost efficiency.
Delivering on-site consulting and training services.
Minimum requirements
Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with specialization in Power and Energy Systems.
Minimum of 6 years of professional experience (excluding academia) with at least 5 years in power systems analysis for consulting firms, electric utilities, ISOs, RTOs, developers, or national labs.
Project management experience, including leading a project team and developing/managing budgets and schedules.
Experience simulating and analyzing the WECC region.
Experience leading, mentoring, or developing others professionally.
Experience analyzing power flow and dynamic stability using PSLF; PSSE, PowerWorld, TSAT and TARA preferred.
Industry experience in power system transient analysis using PSCAD or EMTP-RV.
Good knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards with understanding of RTO and regional planning criteria, procedures, and practices.
Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills with demonstrated ability to produce technical reports.
Ability to travel 10% domestically and internationally.
Preferred qualifications
Prior relevant consulting experience.
Experience in distribution planning.

Pay & Benefits The pay range for this position is $100,450 - $206,640 annually with a target incentive of 10-15% of base salary. Details regarding benefits can be found here.
