Build and operate ML-powered decisioning systems for Stripe’s Identity product, enabling trusted digital identity and fraud prevention at scale.What you’ll doDesign and deploy new models using tools such as Spark, Presto, XGBoost, TensorFlow, PyTorch and iteratively improve verification and fraud models to protect millions of users from fraudIntegrate new signals into ML pipelines, derive new ML features, and build workflows to speed up this processIntegrate new models and behaviors into Stripe’s core payment flowPropose and implement innovative product ideas to reduce costs and combat fraud at StripeCollaborate cross-functionally with data science, product management, infrastructure, and risk teams to design, build, deploy, and operate ML-powered decisioning systemsWho you areMinimum Requirements6+ years of industry experience building and shipping ML systems in productionProficient with ML libraries and frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, XGBoost, and SparkKnowledge of various ML algorithms and model architecturesHands-on experience in designing, training, and evaluating machine learning modelsExperience performing analysis, including querying data, defining metrics, or slicing and dicing data to model performance and business metricsPreferred QualificationsMS/PhD in ML/AI or related field (e.g., math, physics, statistics)Experience with deep neural networks, including transformers and LLMsExperience working in Java or Ruby codebasesProven track record of building and deploying ML systems that solve ambiguous business problemsExperience in adversarial domains such as Payments, Fraud, Trust, or SafetyHybrid work at StripeThis role is available either in an office or a remote location (35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).Pay and benefitsThe annual US base salary range for this role is $212,000 - $318,000.
