Overview The Storage & Replication team is responsible for the infrastructure and services that power Affirm’s most critical data pipelines by providing access to replicated data from across the organization through our Apache Iceberg-powered Data Lake and Snowflake-powered Cloud Data Warehouse. The team’s mission is to establish a modern, efficient, and scalable data infrastructure that empowers all Affirm teams to work seamlessly with data. What You’ll Do Build teams: Lead a high performance infrastructure engineering team with a focus on building a culture of innovation, accountability, empathy and execution Collaborate: Work closely with peers across the organization on projects that turn opportunity into results Influence technical strategy: Collaborate with a broad range of engineering and analytics teams, leveraging your experience to deliver a long term technical roadmap that meets stakeholder and growing business needs Raise the bar: Hold a high technical bar while driving the improvement of your team’s quality standards and development processes Grow others: Play an active role in coaching and mentoring team members, providing timely feedback and creating an environment where every engineer is empowered to grow in their career What We Look For Experience: 7+ years of experience in software engineering with 2+ years of engineering leadership experience Technical skills: Prior experience architecting, building, launching and maintaining OLAP systems with demonstrable knowledge of online storage systems, data replication processes and cloud data warehouses Technical leadership: Demonstrated experience leading technical projects and mentoring engineers with the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and influence technical decisions across teams Team player: Community builder with strong network-building and collaboration skills and a strong desire to grow and mentor others Communication skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Education: This position requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field Base Pay / Equity / Location Base Pay Grade: P • Equity Grade: 13 Base pay range (USA): CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT: $225,000 - $275,000 per year; all other U.S. states: $200,000 - $250,000 per year Location: Remote - US (Affirm is remote-first; some roles may require occasional office work) Benefits Affirm offers competitive benefits anchored to our core value of people come first, including: Health care coverage - Affirm covers all premiums for all levels of coverage for you and your dependents Flexible Spending Wallets - stipends for Technology, Food, Lifestyle needs, and family forming expenses Time off - vacation and holiday schedules to rest and recharge ESPP - Employee stock purchase plan at a discount Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents).
