In this pivotal role, you will help improve healthcare outcomes for children and adolescents in the Knoxville TN area. As a key member of our Optum Behavioral Care team, you will provide essential clinical services to pediatric patients within a primary care setting. This hybrid position allows you to work both remotely and in-person at Summit Medical Group, with a structured schedule of Monday through Friday—no evenings, weekends, or holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize both virtual and in-person methods to coordinate holistic care alongside primary care providers and, when relevant, other mental health professionals.
Conduct screenings and assessments for common mental health and substance use disorders.
Monitor treatment responses and track patient progress, adjusting care plans as needed.
Assist in the management of psychotropic medications, focusing on adherence and monitoring side effects.
Deliver brief, evidence-based interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and behavioral activation.
Engage in regular consultations with psychiatric consultants and communicate treatment recommendations to primary care providers.
Collaborate with patients to create relapse prevention plans prior to discharge from care.

Requirements:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or similar qualified professional licenses in Tennessee.
Proven experience providing behavioral health services to pediatric populations.
A minimum of 3 years treating patients with behavioral health issues and 1+ years in a primary care or integrated behavioral health setting.
Familiarity with evidence-based treatment methods for mental health disorders.
Prior pediatric care experience is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM).
Excellent organizational skills and attentive to detail.
Strong ability to build professional relationships with patients and team members.
Eagerness to use technology for patient care.
