Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Embedded Tactical Engineer with expertise in Fixed Income, Private Credit, Private Equity, and/or Investment Risk to join our investment firm. As an Embedded Tactical Engineer, you will work directly within an investment team alongside portfolio managers, traders, and other team members to develop, implement, and deploy small-scale applications, proofs of concept, and prototypes that enhance market analysis, investment strategies, and decision-making processes.
Note: This Boston-based role has a hybrid work arrangement (2 days per week in office).
Qualifications
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically, independently, and act with minimal guidance.
Effective communication skills to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
At least 5 years of professional experience programming in Python, demonstrating the ability to write efficient, robust code capable of processing large financial datasets.
Experience with key Python libraries (pandas, NumPy) and version control systems (Git).
Strong SQL skills and familiarity with financial data platforms such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Aladdin, eFront.
Experience with statistical and time-series data analysis using Python libraries like Scikit-Learn, SciPy, cvxpy is preferred.
Practical experience developing and maintaining models, tools, and reports demonstrating a deep understanding of quantitative techniques, methods, statistics, and econometrics.
A solid understanding of financial markets, investment instruments (including equities, fixed income, derivatives, private alternatives), portfolio construction, performance attribution, and investment strategies.
Educational background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience.
