This role supports our geophysical group focusing on near-subsurface investigations for civil engineering and environmental projects. The position involves all phases of geophysical services: business development, proposal development, technical work (onsite or guiding staff), data analysis, report writing, invoicing, and project management. It includes collaboration with our east coast geophysics team for training, resource sharing, and mentoring, and may occasionally support other groups with project management or related services. Our geophysical team handles diverse projects mainly across the U.S., with occasional international work. Semi-remote work is possible with periodic travel to the office. Job Responsibilities: Prepare geophysical scopes, proposals, deliverables, and reports for various projects and clients. Manage and support geophysical projects, providing technical expertise and team leadership. Communicate with clients, set project goals, and coordinate resources to ensure timely, within-budget delivery meeting quality standards. Perform fieldwork; train and manage field personnel; oversee and mentor staff over time. Contribute to a positive team culture. Analyze geophysical data, prepare figures, train staff, and ensure data quality and deliverable standards. Engage in business development to expand geophysical opportunities. Support other groups with project management or related services as needed. Required Skills / Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Geophysics, Geology, or related Science 8+ years of professional experience for Project level, or 12+ years for Senior level, in near-surface geophysics for civil/environmental projects PG and/or PGp Licensure or eligibility to attain within 6 months Excellent communication skills Ability to multi-task, set schedules, and manage supporting staff to meet deadlines Strong work ethic and desire for self-improvement Willingness to perform field work and travel, including out-of-town assignments Driver's license and ability to operate company/rental vehicles Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, navigate rough terrain, and work outdoors Preferred Skills / Experience: Master's Degree in a related field PG and/or PGp Licensure 10+ years' experience for Project, 15+ for Senior Experience with seismic refraction, MASW, electrical resistivity, potential fields, GPR Experience with software such as Surfer, Geosoft Oasis Montaj, Radan, and others listed Experience with OpenGround, GIS, qGIS, CADD Ability to obtain security clearance MSHA, OSHA 30 hr, OSHA HAZWOPER training and refreshers Other Requirements: Pass background check, including criminal, motor vehicle, and credit checks Pass pre-employment drug screening The salary range is $77,000 to $135,000, varying by location and other factors.
