Lateral Associate – Securities Litigation Practice Area/Medical Unit: Securities Litigation Location: Palo Alto, CA Schedule: Onsite or Hybrid (varies by office); full-time with standard billable expectations (1,900+ annually) Salary: Estimated base range of $215,000 to $380,000 depending on class year, plus performance-based bonuses. The Client: A leading AmLaw 20 firm with a top-ranked securities litigation practice representing public companies, officers, directors, and financial institutions. The team defends clients in shareholder class actions, derivative suits, SEC enforcement matters, and internal investigations. Description: You will manage all phases of securities litigation and regulatory enforcement, including motion practice, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation. The role includes counseling clients on risk mitigation, disclosure obligations, and compliance with federal securities laws. You will work closely with colleagues in corporate and white-collar practices to provide coordinated legal strategies. This position offers direct client contact, early leadership opportunities, and high-profile case experience. Qualifications: JD from an accredited law school; admission in the relevant state bar or eligibility to obtain promptly. Preferred class years: 2018–2022 (mid-level) or 2015+ (senior lateral). Significant experience in securities litigation, SEC enforcement, or complex commercial litigation. Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Ability to manage complex cases and work effectively under pressure. Trial or arbitration experience is a plus.
