Visa USA Inc., a Visa Inc. company, needs a Senior Consultant (multiple openings) in Foster City, CA to: Build and experiment with modeling and scoring algorithms. This includes development of custom algorithms as well as use of packaged tools based on machine learning (ML), data mining and statistical techniques. Develop predictive and prescriptive solutions, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI), ML and Statistical Process Control (SPC), to monitor and detect various fraud schemes and abnormal transaction activity. Lead global team of analytical professionals to write the next chapter of Visa’s fraud detection capabilities. Get to the root of a problem, defining business objectives and formalizing data requirements, especially in a fast paced, fluid environment. Leverage Splunk extensively for developing, monitoring, and optimizing risk detection solutions, including real-time alerting, batch processing, and advanced analytics to ensure accurate, timely identification of anomalies and efficient reporting to support proactive risk mitigation efforts. Analyze complex financial data to uncover patterns, anomalies, and insights that support risk assessment and fraud identification. Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of anomaly detection platforms, including their design, development, implementation, monitoring, and continuous optimization, to ensure robust identification and mitigation of risks and irregularities. Collaborate with Product & Technology partners to enhance fraud detection capabilities for improved insights and pattern detection. Collaborate with Payment Systems Intelligence and Risk Operations Center (ROC) teams to recognize and implement measures to identify and disrupt new fraud and cybercrime threats to the clients enrolled in the Fraud Services program. Lead multiple projects with vendors and work closely with consultants to ensure project deliverables meet quality standards, align with organizational goals, and are delivered on time. Work on multiple projects and initiatives with different/competing timelines and demands. Provide intelligence and technical analysis support to the Global Risk organization to further protect the payment ecosystem. Provide guidance in modern analytic techniques and business applications to unlock the value of Visa’s unique data set, in keeping with market trends, client needs and emerging techniques. Mentor and train other team members on key solutions. Position reports to the Employer’s Foster City, California office and may allow for partial telecommuting. Basic Qualifications: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Analytics or related field, followed by 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a consultant-related occupation. Alternatively, Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Analytics, or related field, and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a consultant-related occupation. Position requires experience in the following skills: Hadoop and Hive; Python. Automating tasks in Unix/Linux using Shell Script; SQL; Building systems that can automatically learn and improve from data to perform tasks like predictions, classifications, pattern recognition and fraud detection (Machine Learning); PySpark; Splunk; Tableau; Identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial, operational, and security risks associated with payment transactions; and Business Analytics, including analyzing data to drive informed decision making, improve business strategies, optimize processes, and identify trends, patterns, and opportunities to enhance performance and competitiveness.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs. Travel Requirements: This position does not require travel. Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers. U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $175,490.00 USD to $229,300.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
