This position will drive efficiency and scalability by aligning data systems with business goals. This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to efficiently combine data from different sources with a keen eye toward data governance and quality. Senior Data Engineers work directly with end users to gather requirements and build technical specifications that enable the development of robust, extensible data pipelines.

How You Will Make an Impact Data Architecture and Infrastructure: Design, build, and maintain robust, extensible data systems and pipelines. This includes designing and implementing data lakes, data marts, and other data storage solutions.

Data Integration and ETL: Develop and maintain data integration processes, including ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines, to move data from various sources into a central repository.

Data Quality and Integrity: Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness through data quality checks and validation processes.

Data Governance: Collaborate with IT teams to adhere to best practices and maintain data integrity.

Collaboration and Communication: Work with data analysts, scientists, application owners, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data-driven decision-making.

Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest data engineering technologies and best practices and recommend improvements to existing systems and processes.

Experience and Skills You'll Need to Have 5+ years of experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, SQL), data modeling, and database management systems. Hands-on experience with big data technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Hive, and cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Experience with data warehousing and ETL tools/frameworks. Solid understanding of data governance principles and best practices for maintaining data quality and integrity. Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with cross-functional teams. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior data engineers.
