Summary: This position is responsible for leading, designing and implementing complex data warehouse ELT and ETL processes. Mentoring junior associates and assisting with onboarding of contract resources.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Act independently under general supervision using established software and standards.
  • Evaluate proposed system changes on applications to determine effort, impact, and timeline within their area of responsibility and some broad knowledge of relevant applications.
  • Provides technical and business leadership, mentoring, and training.
  • Designs, supervises, plans, and coordinates medium to large sized projects.
  • Work with Data Science, Research, IT, and business units to collect and write business requirements.
  • Interpret business and technical requirements (written or oral) as an input to design, code and implement efficient and robust ELT and ETL processes.
  • Perform data profiling and data analysis against sources to define requirements as input for data models.
  • Potentially manage unstructured, "Big Data" such as telematic, internet-of-things (IOT), drone, wearables, sensor, and social media, in a distributed ecosystem like Hadoop, should business use-cases require such sources.
  • Operate across all phases of development, including but not limited to designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, installing, configuring, etc.
  • Considers system capacity, resources, and performance when designing complex ELT and ETL processes
  • Work collaboratively with team members and other departments.
  • Have quality assurance responsibilities and limited after hours on-call support.
  • Monitor, plan, document, conduct, and evaluate assignment status with project teams and management.
  • Evaluate progress and results to recommend changes in procedures.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with all business contacts, including group presentations and meeting facilitation.
  • Responsible for project completion and user satisfaction on medium to large sized projects.
  • May assist with the review and evaluation of personnel performance.
  • Mentor junior associates and onboard contract resources.
  • Delegate work to other team members and contractors when leading large complex projects.

What You'll Bring To The Company:

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems or related field, or equivalent education and experience required.
  • 7+ years of related work experience in similar or directly related functions, preferably in insurance or financial services.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, Teradata, and Snowflake.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of ELT and ETL development. SSIS and Matillion programming experience a plus.
  • Expert SQL querying skills.
  • Experience with semi/unstructured data a plus.
  • Experience with data modeling a plus.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision with considerable latitude for un-reviewed actions or decisions.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills, excellent problem-solving skills, and the self-motivation to improve skills and abilities.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism and preferably an understanding of the insurance business.
