Senior Principal Enterprise Portfolio Architect - State Government Solutions - Remote This role involves providing technical vision and leadership to align IT solutions with business outcomes, overseeing strategic initiatives impacting Prime's State Government Solutions line of business, products, capabilities, and technologies.
The Enterprise Portfolio Architect initiates and leads strategic capability changes, including new products, initiatives, systems, and shared services. They define architecture strategies and ensure solutions meet business needs while adhering to governance and standards. This position involves creating target-state guidance for enterprise architecture evolution.
Responsibilities
Lead and facilitate the development of the State Government Solutions portfolio strategy.
Manage and communicate the portfolio strategy through architecture blueprints, roadmaps, and presentations.
Promote decision-making at appropriate organizational levels and identify opportunities for shared capabilities to reduce costs and improve integration.
Lead architecture and solution definition for strategic products and initiatives, including investment evaluation and business case support.
Research and lead the adoption of emerging technology trends relevant to the portfolio.
Engage stakeholders to identify innovation opportunities that enable business outcomes.
Develop policies, standards, and guidelines for IT solutions within the enterprise.
Maintain and evolve architecture blueprints (current, transition, future states).
Analyze the business-IT environment to identify deficiencies and technical debt, recommending improvements.
Govern architecturally significant work, ensuring alignment with strategies through reviews and collaboration.
Work cross-functionally to support future business requirements and solution lifecycle.
Mentor and collaborate with technical experts and peers to develop enabling architecture.
Improve enterprise and portfolio architecture practices continuously.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience; HS diploma or GED required.
10 years of related experience, including 5 in an architect role.
Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Additional Qualifications
Experience in business analysis, capability modeling, value stream optimization, and business case development.
Experience defining architecture standards for domains.
Effective communication skills across organizational levels.
Leadership in architecture teams and initiatives.
Knowledge across multiple domain areas with pragmatic solutions.
Self-driven learner and team leader.
Experience with various solution types, including cloud and legacy systems.
Experience with enterprise architecture tools and SAFe Agile Framework.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of business and enterprise architecture development.
Experience with healthcare regulations like HIPAA/PCI.
Background in Pharmacy Benefit Management or healthcare.
Experience in Agile/Product Delivery models.
Strong understanding of SDLC and project management.
Master’s degree or higher in related fields.
Expertise in multiple architectural domains.
Formal architecture training and certification.
Experience with enterprise architecture modeling tools.
Physical Requirements
Travel up to 5%.
Prolonged sitting, use of hands, talking, and hearing.
Reaching, standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Vision abilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
Reporting Structure Reports to AVP Enterprise Architecture.
Salary range: $143,000 - $243,000 based on experience.
