Senior Sales Engineer, East (Axon) Location: Remote, travel up to 50% of the time. Candidate must be located in the Eastern United States.
Reports to: Senior Manager, Sales Engineering.
Axon is a developer and manufacturer of conducted electrical weapons, body worn cameras, and digital evidence management solutions. We seek a high-energy, results-driven pre-sales sales engineer who thrives on pitching technology to leadership as well as support staff and end-users. This role accelerates our sales initiatives and requires a self-starter who excels in a fast-paced, evangelistic, startup-like environment focused on Law Enforcement and the public safety space.
Your Impact
Achieve mastery of all Axon technologies / products
Use exceptional written and oral communication skills to lead business and technical presentations effectively
Engage with IT departments (including CIOs), channel partner leadership, and technical stakeholders
Set and manage expectations with customers and team members
Provide first-level technical support throughout the pre-sales cycle
Stay organized and remove sales obstacles through creativity and adaptation
Develop relationships with key partners for growth within their customer base
Deliver professional responses to customer RFPs / RFIs
Position the technology against competitive offerings
Represent the products, company values, and brand at field events and conferences
Own the POC/Pilot process: coordinate logistics, assess requirements, tailor tests, assist with configuration
Improve or develop technical documentation to aid customer or channel usage
Capture requested features and provide feedback to Product Management, Sales, Development, Support, Engineering and Marketing
Develop Statements of Work (SOW) for Professional Services as needed for binding quotes
Perform other duties and projects as assigned
What You Bring
Willingness to travel up to 50%
Educational background: Associates degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent) or 5+ years relevant experience
Professional background: 3-5 years customer-facing pre-sales or consulting; experience selling SaaS solutions
Experience in End User Compute or Cloud Computing; knowledge of networking, storage, virtualization or related technologies
Strong intellectual curiosity, humility, accountability and a positive approach
Basic knowledge or curiosity about security, IPsec, InfoSec, hacking and exploitation tools/methodologies
Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and storage devices
Ability to work independently with significant latitude for action while collaborating with others
Strong presentation skills, technical acumen, and ability to simplify the complex
Experience developing Statements of Work (SOW) or similar documents
Intermediate knowledge of routing and switching, telecommunications, and Internet technologies
Basic knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies
Network and Telecommunication-specific certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+)

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company. The starting base pay for this role ranges from USD 111,000 to USD 177,600, depending on geographic market and other factors. Details at www.axon.com/careers/benefits.
