Overview Seattle Accounting Professionals, LLC is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join our team of tax professionals. With clients that include small businesses, individuals, trusts, and estates, you will work on a variety of complex and rewarding tax issues that are vital to our clients’ success. Responsibilities Lead and manage multiple tax engagements, including compliance, planning, and advisory for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates. Review complex tax returns, estimates, and filings, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws. Develop and implement tax strategies to help clients minimize liabilities and achieve financial goals. Serve as the primary point of contact for a group of assigned clients, building strong, long-term relationships. Identify and resolve complex tax issues; research and prepare technical memoranda as needed. Supervise, mentor, and develop tax staff and managers to ensure high-quality work and professional growth. Collaborate with firm leadership to identify opportunities for expanding client services and support business development initiatives. Manage engagement economics—staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and billing—to achieve profitable results. Stay current on tax regulations, legislative changes, and industry trends to provide proactive guidance to clients. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (required). Experience 7–10 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, with proven expertise reviewing complex tax returns and managing client engagements. Demonstrated success in supervising and mentoring staff, as well as managing multiple projects simultaneously. License/Certification Active CPA license required; JD/LLM or MST a plus. Skills & Attributes Excellent oral and written communication skills with a client service mindset. Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and (preferred) multi-state taxation. Experience with tax research tools (e.g., Checkpoint RIA) and tax software (UltraTax, Onvio, Tic-Tie-Calculate, or similar). Ability to work collaboratively, lead by example, and thrive during peak busy seasons. Strong computer proficiency (Windows, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat) with the ability to adapt to new systems.
