To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What You’ll Be Doing CIBC is seeking a dynamic and experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead our DevSecOps & Automation team. This role is responsible for driving the adoption of secure, automated software delivery practices across the organization, ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our technology platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, DevSecOps methodologies, and automation frameworks, with proven leadership capabilities. We offer a flexible hybrid work arrangement, with 1-3 days per week on-site, and the rest remote. How You’ll Succeed DevSecOps Strategy & Implementation: Define and execute the DevSecOps roadmap, KPIs, quarterly OKRs aligning with business and technology objectives, and ROI goals. Champion security best practices throughout the SDLC. Oversee CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and automated testing frameworks, and measure ROI. Leveraging technology: Identify opportunities for automation across development, deployment, and operational processes. Evaluate, implement, and maintain tools for configuration management, monitoring, and security compliance. Strategic Mindset: Build and execute communication strategies supporting key business initiatives, working closely with senior leadership to foster understanding of TI&I’s mandate to run, protect, and transform the bank. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work with software engineering, security, infrastructure, and business teams to deliver secure, reliable solutions. Communicate technical concepts effectively to stakeholders at all levels. Governance & Compliance: Ensure all DevSecOps practices comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Drive initiatives to improve auditability, traceability, and risk management. Who You Are Experience: 8-12 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience, with at least 6+ years in leadership within financial services or technology. Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and align projects with broader business goals. Education: Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or relevant certifications/bootcamps. Industry Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of banking products, services, industry regulations, and current trends; ability to influence strategic decisions. Compliance & Risk Management: Experience in ensuring compliance and managing risk within your team. Goals & Change Management: Goal-oriented, motivated to achieve results, and capable of leading organizational change, including staff education and communication with senior leadership. Technical Expertise: Subject Matter Expert in DevSecOps practices, CI/CD, IaC, containerization, automated security testing, with proficiency in tools like GitLab CI, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, and security scanning tools. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and automation tools such as UiPath and AI-driven automation is a plus.
