Job Description This position reports to the VP of Payment Products Development Architecture and Consulting and is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of a subset of the Architecture team. Responsibilities include Provide inspirational leadership and technical guidance to the architecture team Mentor staff members to help them gain knowledge and achieve their career goals Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees, maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment, developing personal growth opportunities Partner with application developers, architects, engineers, and various groups supporting Payment Products Development systems and interfacing applications to drive new initiatives Serve as liaison between organizational entities and build relationships with members of these organizations Keep senior management informed of progress and obstacles via status reports, presentations, etc. Demonstrate business acumen to work effectively with all organizational levels to achieve key business and technology goals Develop vision, strategies, and roadmaps to meet business objectives with existing or emerging technologies by partnering with Product stakeholders Contribute to the organizational development of the Architecture team, including setting the vision, charter, goals, and processes to encourage continual improvement Foster innovation and leverage new technologies Apply creative thinking to determine technical solutions that align with business goals and corporate strategies, considering security, performance, reliability, scalability, usability, flexibility, and cost Provide resource plans, budget tracking, and forecasting. Manage the team to achieve scope, schedule, and cost objectives Instill best practices for software/systems architecture and documentation, ensuring conceptual approaches Meet requirements and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules Monitor and operate production services, understanding user experience and ensuring customer satisfaction through collaboration with support teams Manage career development of direct reports This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager. Qualifications Basic Qualifications 12+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree, OR 15+ years of relevant work experience Preferred Requirements 15+ years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 12+ years with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience Deep technical and business knowledge of VisaNet, payments processing, the payments industry, and emerging trends Expertise in payment business, products, and services provided by VisaNet Understanding of regulatory environments guiding Visa's market entries Experience architecting solutions for highly scalable, highly available systems Excellent communication skills, including experience producing artifacts for senior/executive audiences using MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio Ability to manage changing priorities while guiding staff to produce high-quality deliverables Proven leadership with a track record of exceeding expectations according to Visa Leadership Principles Additional Information Work Hours: Varies upon department needs. Travel Requirements: 5-10% of the time. Mental/Physical Requirements: Office setting; sitting, standing, communication, operating standard office equipment. Visa is an EEO Employer.
