The Role As Senior Director of Engineering for Activation at Amperity, you will lead the teams responsible for how marketers connect with their customers through our platform. You will shape both the technical execution and the broader strategy for delivering intuitive, customer experiences. Your scope spans multiple teams across geographies and time zones, and you will ensure they operate as a cohesive organization. You will set the vision and execution path for how we evolve our Activation capabilities, driving accountability at every level. You will mentor across the company, promote a culture of empowerment, inclusion, and continuous improvement, and report to the SVP, Engineering. Responsibilities Lead teams across geographies to deliver high-impact activation capabilities within Amperity’s platform. Shape technical execution and product strategy for intuitive, customer-focused experiences. Engage across the technical stack, from high-performance query systems to connector technologies. Drive end-to-end user experiences that are delightful and impactful. Build and nurture teams in a distributed environment, fostering trust, innovation, curiosity, and accountability. Mentor managers and individual contributors and develop future leaders. About You 15+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years leading managers of managers. Experience leading multiple teams across geographies and time zones with a shared vision and measurable goals. Experience mentoring managers and individual contributors and building diverse, inclusive, and psychologically safe teams. Ability to guide organizational learning and continuous improvement through mentoring, feedback, and metrics. Experience delivering complex projects and making decisions shaping long-term success. Operational excellence with the ability to establish and champion group-wide metrics and processes that improve organizational health. Technical credibility across domains such as query systems and connectors, with ability to contribute to strategy while empowering teams to execute. Experience recruiting and retaining top talent and leading through evolving priorities and dependencies. Location Seattle, WA. Our hybrid work model includes three days in the office each week, providing a mix of in-person collaboration and remote flexibility. Compensation Base Salary: $200,000-$280,000. Within our pay range, salaries are determined by factors including business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications. Cash Incentives: Available. Stock Options: New-hire equity grant commensurate with the scope of the position.
