As a Staff ML Engineer, you will be a key technical leader, shaping the direction of vertical ads products, and collaborating closely with product managers, data scientists, designers, and engineers to deliver impactful, pinner-facing ad products end-to-end.
What You’ll Do Define and drive the strategy and roadmap for our vertical ads products, shaping the future of ad experiences on Pinterest. Lead the end-to-end development of production-grade machine learning models to enhance ad triggering, ranking, and selection, thereby optimizing the ads marketplace systems for bidding, budgeting, and ad placement. Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, designers, and engineers across the company to ship impactful, user-facing ad products. Serve as a technical mentor for other engineers, elevating the team’s expertise in machine learning, system design, and best practices.
What We’re Looking For MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning or related field 6+ years of industry experience 2+ years of experience leading projects/teams Strong software engineering, mathematical and analytical skills Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, and collaboration skills Hands-on experience with large-scale online e-commerce systems is a plus Background in computational advertising is preferred
In-Office Requirement We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/month , and therefore needs to be in a commutable distance from one of the following offices: San Francisco, Palo Alto, Seattle.
