Job Overview
As a system architect in our Data & Devices Business Unit, you will focus on the compute, storage, artificial intelligence, and networking industry. You will interface with customers to understand their systems and evolving technology needs, generate high-level system architecture requirements, and ensure alignment with TE's technology and product roadmaps. You will also participate in industry communication standards and drive strategy both internally and externally.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Hardware Systems Architect (Staff R&D / Product Development Engineer) to join our diverse and growing team. You will advance digital engineering and model-based systems engineering capabilities, develop programs and proposals, and lead their implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Interface with key OEM and other customers
- Identify potential technology disruptors and industry trends
- Integrate customer needs with industry knowledge to inform technology and product development
- Influence internal investment in new technologies and products
- Collaborate within a geographically dispersed system architecture team
- Build industry expertise and work closely with external customers and internal teams
- Manage technical cooperation with customers and coordinate with internal engineering teams
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and contribute to standardization efforts
Required Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; an Associate's degree with relevant experience is also acceptable. A dual bachelor’s degree in business or an MBA is a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in computer and/or networking system design and related technologies
- Knowledge of hardware and signaling environments; expertise in high-speed engineering and design
- Familiarity with computer, networking, AI/ML, and storage architectures is advantageous
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative
- Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Ability to build relationships with customers, industry leaders, and internal teams
- Willingness to travel approximately 25%-30%

Compensation
- Base salary ranging from $127,920 to $191,880, depending on experience and location
- Total compensation includes base salary, incentives, and benefits
