Overview
Tax Director - Unclaimed Property (Hybrid) at Andersen. This role focuses on state unclaimed property matters, compliance outsourcing, audit defense, voluntary disclosures, risk assessments, and policy and procedure enhancements.
Responsibilities
- Oversee services related to state unclaimed property, including research, annual compliance outsourcing, audit defense, voluntary disclosures, and risk assessments.
- Lead policy and procedure enhancements and provide leadership and mentorship to Associates and Managers on tax projects.
- Work directly with clients, lead the tax engagement team, manage client expectations, and ensure deadlines and satisfaction are met.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members; participate in engagement reviews and performance assessments.
- Contribute to the firm’s growth through leadership, training, and development of the tax team.
Qualifications
- BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or Economics; Masters in Taxation or LL.M. is a plus.
- CPA, JD, or similar Unclaimed Property advanced certification or degree required.
- Minimum of eight years experience in public accounting or corporate/public blend.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel for computations and models, including statistical sampling related to unclaimed property.
- Proven ability to document unclaimed property issues in written form (e.g., technical memoranda, reports).
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter with the initiative to seek opportunities and ability to work in a fast-paced environment; strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

The compensation range for Orange County is $189,000–$286,100; actual offers vary by qualifications.
