POSITION PURPOSE
The Technology Solutions Specialist - I (TSS-I) supports the design, integration, enhancement, maintenance, and support of business systems/solutions in support of business needs and the strategic objectives of Rocky Mountain University (RMU). This position also assists in the design and development of integrated data warehouse and decision support systems to support business intelligence and analytics. Finally, the TSS-I receives coaching and mentoring from more experienced team members (e.g., TSS-II, TSS-III). This position requires a hybrid (on-site/remote) work schedule.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer, enhance, and support SaaS applications/solutions (e.g., student information systems, customer relationship management systems, digital marketing systems, learning management systems, finance systems, etc.) to ensure optimal performance and integration with existing enterprise systems.
- Develop, administer, and support data management tools and data pipelines.
- Develop and test customized end-to-end business solutions using low-code apps and workflows that meet and exceed user requirements without issues that impact user/university functions.
- Function as Agile/Scrum team member and follow and champion best practices.
- Assist in developing and estimating sprint tasks based on user stories (business requirements).
- Assist in developing and documenting application changes supporting the change management procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather/analyze business and technical requirements, lead feasibility assessments, and develop/recommend solution alternatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement/improve solutions to enhance system interoperability and data exchange capabilities in support of business objectives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to application support, systems integration, and data pipelines.
- Document system configurations, processes, and integration workflows for knowledge sharing and future reference.
POSITION COMPETENCIES
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
Certification in Microsoft Azure or relevant cloud technologies is preferred.
Required Knowledge:
Understands cloud computing principles and architectures. Experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps preferred.
Knowledge of data modeling and database design principles.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
Familiarity it’s low-code/no-code (LC/NC) development tools.
Experience Required:
1-3 years’ experience with vendor SaaS (Software as a Service) administration/support. Experience with enterprise systems integration and data pipeline management preferred.
Experience with business intelligence tools like Power BI or similar is preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Power Platform preferred or similar.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs and data pipelines (including ETL/ELT pipelines) preferred.
Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform) preferred.
Skills/Abilities:
Proficiency in implementing, integrating, and supporting SaaS systems.
Familiar and experience with programming languages and structured design concepts.
Understanding of UI/UX (User Interface/User Experience) best practices in designing and developing application GUI screens.
Familiar with data management and data analysis tools/services.
Familiar with LC/NC application development (coursework accepted with demonstrated products).
Proficiency in moving data from one system to another.
Collaborate on cross-functional teams.
Able to develop user stories with business users. Assists in effort estimation activities and Scrum events (e.g., sprint planning meetings, daily stand-up meetings, and sprint retrospectives).
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex technical issues.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
