Berkeley Research Group, a global strategic advisory and expert consulting firm, is seeking an Associate General Counsel specializing in Healthcare to support BRG’s Second Sight Solutions group. The Associate General Counsel will report to the head of Second Sight Solutions as well as BRG’s General Counsel, and will support Second Sight Solutions from a commercial operations perspective, including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, such as letters of engagement and non-disclosure agreements, and maintaining regulatory requirements.
Experience : 3-6 years of general commercial contracting and negotiating experience is required with a focus on healthcare contracting.
Compensation : $150,000-$200,000
Location : Remote or Chicago, IL, New York, NY, or Washington, DC.
Bar Admission : Member in good standing of at least one state bar.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Draft and negotiate commercial healthcare contracts and agreements, including letters of engagement, Master Services Agreements, licensing and other vendor agreements, IT and subscription agreements, BAAs, RFP documentation and independent contractor / subcontractor agreements.
Ensure that contracts comply with the Firm’s internal guidelines.
Provide legal advice to internal clients on a variety of legal, compliance and commercial issues.
Assist with internal governance, risk management and compliance programs, including drafting policies and procedures, and participating in training.
Evaluate relevant legislative or judicial updates impacting Second Sight Solutions business.
Evaluate Second Sight Solutions product compliance with government regulations and statutory requirements such as HIPAA.
Education and Qualifications :
Juris Doctor with strong academic credentials.
Licensed in good standing to practice law in at least one state.
Required Experience :
3-6 years of relevant experience at a top-tier law firm and/or corporate legal department with a focus on healthcare.
Experience drafting and negotiating contracts, including engagement letters, Master Service Agreements, vendor agreements and RFP responses.
Preferred Experience:
Ability to counsel and confer directly with internal clients and to engage directly with third parties.
Commercial negotiating skills.
Acclimated to working in a demanding and fast paced environment, and adept at working with strong personalities.
