The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is seeking a Strategic Advisor to support the Department's mission and strategic plan by creating an inclusive, culture-centric department. The successful candidate will develop, plan, organize, manage, evaluate, and lead CDPH Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) strategic programs and activities. The CEA will be responsible for overall policy development for DEI, serve as a direct advisor to the CDPH Directorate, and work with the Office of Health Equity (OHE) to link department efforts with external efforts. The incumbent will work under the direction of the Chief Deputy Director, Health Quality and Emergency Response. Desirable Qualifications Background and experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion framework and practices. Experience in strategic planning, change management, and organizational development. Expertise in developing, facilitating, and evaluating training programs. Excellent leadership skills, including values such as equity, continuous improvement, and trauma responsiveness. Responsibilities The Strategic Advisor will develop, plan, organize, manage, evaluate, and lead CDPH DEI strategic programs and activities; promote efforts to achieve diversity, equity, and inclusion within the CDPH; and lead Department Equity Liaisons to set meaningful, measurable, achievable goals that align with the Department's core values. Working Conditions This position may be eligible for telework up to three (3) days per week and is required to report in-person to the designated headquarters office location a minimum of two (2) days per week. Salary Range $10,349.00 - $21,370.00 per month.
