What you’ll do Cash Flow Management: Oversee daily cash flow, track and optimize revenue vs. expense cycles, and maintain visibility into our $1.5M–$2M monthly revenue and ~$1.1M in monthly expenses. Financial Strategy & Forecasting: Build and lead a forward-looking financial strategy, including rolling forecasts, cost-center analysis, and monthly projections. Partner with leadership to make informed decisions about cash reserves, credit lines, and investment planning. Budgeting & Reporting: Implement budgeting systems from the ground up and deliver actionable monthly financial snapshots. Prepare insightful reports for executive review, aligning finance with firm-wide performance goals. Accounting Oversight: Ensure accurate bookkeeping and accounting practices, leveraging systems like QuickBooks and Power BI. Supervise AP/AR teams, helping to streamline current AP/AR procedures and apply best practices to increase efficiency, accuracy, and revenue collection, and guide the build-out of scalable financial infrastructure. Tech System Optimization: Support the transition to a new case management platform and billing solution, ensuring accuracy, integration, and financial visibility across practice areas. Tax Planning & Compliance: Collaborate with external tax partners (e.g., Baker Tilly) to optimize year-round tax strategy and compliance. Analyze and advise on strategic financial implications of new legal initiatives or legislative developments. Executive Collaboration: Act as a strategic advisor to the Managing Partner and President. Serve as a trusted voice in high-stakes financial discussions, identifying opportunities for profitability and course correction. What we’re looking for Experience: 3–5+ years as a CFO or senior financial leader with a track record of driving profitability and scalability in a high-growth environment. Industry Exposure: Law firm or healthcare experience is a plus, but not required. Analytical Acumen: Expert in Excel, QuickBooks, Power BI, and financial modeling. Able to translate raw data into strategic, actionable insights. Leadership Style: Direct, candid, and collaborative. Comfortable giving strong opinions while partnering across diverse teams. Systems Builder: Experienced in implementing financial infrastructure, including new software systems, reporting dashboards, and cost analysis protocols. Strategic Problem-Solving: Able to identify inefficiencies, challenge the status quo, and build financial systems that align with organizational mission and scale.
