Job Summary The SR Companies’ Chief Accounting Officer is a mission-driven and detail-oriented executive that leads and oversees the integrity of all accounting operations for multiple businesses and entities. The CAO ensures the accuracy of financial reporting, compliance with applicable standards and regulations, and the stewardship of the company’s accounting policies, systems, and internal controls. The CAO serves as a strategic partner to the CFO and executive leadership team while providing leadership to the accounting team. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Demonstrates the “Golden Rule” of treating others the way we wish to be treated in all actions and communications. Lead and manage all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets. Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes. Maintain compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and other accounting standards. Lead preparation of financial statements, management reports, and audit documentation. Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity. Oversee all external audits and coordinate with independent auditors. Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and other regulatory reports. Partner with the CFO and senior leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts. Manage treasury function including receivables, disbursements, bank reconciliation, and cash flow. Implement and optimize accounting systems and processes to support scalability. Stay current on accounting regulations and best practices, recommending changes as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required. 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Deep knowledge of GAAP and internal control frameworks. Experience with audit, tax, compliance, and reporting. Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills. Proficiency in accounting software. Excellent teaming and communication skills. Ability to meet firm deadlines. Ability to prioritize, manage and complete multiple tasks. Exceptional PC skills, including Advanced MS Excel. Ability to work independently. Additional Eligibility Requirements Must submit to and pass a drug test pursuant to Company Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes random testing. Must submit to and pass a level 2 background screening. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment and remotely. Ability to work at corporate office one to two days per week. Physical Demands Required to stand/walk/sit regularly and occasionally for prolonged periods of time. Must have stamina to work more than the scheduled workday when needed, including nights and weekends. Travel required: Less than 20%.
