Overview Location: Northern Suburbs, IL - Open to Remote Job Summary: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization, ensuring financial goals are met and profitability is maximized. As part of a growing company in the healthcare industry, the CFO will provide strategic financial leadership, drive financial planning and forecasting, optimize finance workflows, and support investment and strategic transactions. Job Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Lead and oversee all financial workflows, including business tracking, reporting, cash reconciliation, compliance, vendor management, and tax. Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide insight into operations and business plans. Provide hands-on leadership and business partnership to cross-functional department leaders in alignment with the strategic plan. Supervise finance personnel and support recruitment for new or backfilled roles. Support, analyze, and execute investment and strategic transactions. Monitor cash flow trends and ensure compatibility with business needs. Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, forecasts, financial reports, and operational trends to support strategic decision-making at the Executive and Board level. Develop and implement strategies to achieve financial targets and optimize resource allocation. Analyze internal operations and identify areas for improvement within the finance process. Ensure risk management, negotiate structures, and evaluate impacts on cash, liquidity, and financial obligations. Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting. Beneficial Education, Skills, and Experience Strong understanding and appreciation for comprehensive data reconciliation. Skilled at simplifying complex concepts, such as R&D accounting and economics. Propensity to ask “why” and understand the underlying factors behind business and financial outcomes. Experience in supporting M&A execution and post-transaction integration/synergy realization, as well as supporting business transformation efforts (e.g., new business line additions, technology integrations). Required Education, Skills, and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. Minimum of 12 years’ experience in Accounting or Finance. Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of strategic execution. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to leverage technology to streamline operations and drive business insights. In-depth understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory, and tax considerations. Strong organizational leadership and strategic thinking skills.
