Overview We are looking for a Hardware Test/Bringup Engineering Manager who will help us advance our testing environments, evaluate specifications and debug automotive electronic systems. You'll dive into complex environments, collaborate across disciplines and help ensure our systems meet global safety standards. This role is a manager level with four direct reports. Responsibilities
Bring up, test, and debug automotive electronic systems with both compute and network components, drive issues to closure Evaluate specifications and establish optimum test method & required equipment to complete system function verification and performance characterization Build hardware set-up and assist in end to end software testing, document and communicate setup, debug procedures and test results with other team members Setup and maintain lab space, tools, and materials of a hardware R&D lab Responsible for inventory management of prototype devices
Qualifications
Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field 5+ years of experience in board bring-up and validation of complex compute and/or network systems, with a minimum 5 years of management experience Proficient with lab equipment: power supplies, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and network traffic generators (e.g., CANoe, Peak-SocketCAN, Spirent) Strong understanding of automotive Ethernet standards: 802.11bw, 802.11bp (10BASE-T1S, 100BASE-T1, 1000BASE-T1), CANHS, and CANFD Ability to read complex schematics and design/layout simple breakout boards Hands-on experience with Python or other scripting languages Comfortable working in Linux or similar operating systems Familiarity with CAN dbc file formats and tools
Desired Skills
Experience with bench-level hardware repair and debugging Understanding of high-speed digital design and signal integrity (RGMII, SGMII, SerDes) Familiarity with embedded systems: U-Boot, Yocto, and RTOS environments Proven ability to develop and execute test plans for complex electronic systems Exposure to firmware development and integration Experience with automotive test equipment (e.g., Vector, Intrepid) Proficient with JTAG tools (e.g., Lauterbach, J-Link) Hands-on experience with NXP and Renesas network application processors Prior work with silicon vendor development boards (e.g., S32G2/G3, Renesas S4, Qualcomm) Knowledge of automotive-grade switches (e.g., Marvell, Broadcom, Realtek) Understanding of functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262) Solid grasp of automotive Electrical/Electronic Architecture (EEA)
