Overview Head of Compensation Programs at Stripe. What you’ll do The Head of Compensation Programs will lead a team of compensation experts who are responsible for building and designing innovative compensation programs. You will build strategic frameworks, partner with cross-functional teams, and make data-driven decisions to meet the company’s needs. Lead a team of compensation experts who design, build and deliver global compensation programs, including base salary, variable compensation, and equity plans. Oversee all aspects of our annual compensation planning processes, including the development and completion of compensation cycle reviews and recommendations related to performance, incentives, promotions, and equity. Partner with teams such as People Systems, People Analytics, Finance, and Legal on compensation philosophies, programs, policies and practices; develop solutions for compensation-related issues. Create new tools to deliver experiences for employees and enable more data-driven decisions. Manage market pricing activities including job matching, data analytics, and job pricing, including analysis of cash and long-term incentive compensation practices. Maintain current knowledge of internal and external market compensation practices and trends on pay, organization design, role definition, pay for performance, and legal/regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local regulations; stay aware of regulatory changes and their potential impact on compensation requirements. Who you are We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business, Finance, Economics, or related fields required. 10+ years of experience with 8+ years of developing and managing global compensation programs and processes for both public and private companies, preferably in a high-growth technology environment. Experience leading compensation strategy, competitive pay evaluation, pay/performance links, incentive program design, mergers and acquisitions, etc. Knowledge of current market trends and practices. Experience in compensation plan administration and reporting. Proven track record of implementing creative compensation programs that align the broader employee population and senior management with shareholder value and drive achievement of strategic objectives. Excellent analytical and financial skills, including reduction in cost/risk and optimizing vendor structures/management. Demonstrated ability to anticipate future trends and build innovative approaches; deep compensation experience in a customer-facing environment. Success in crafting and articulating ideas and plans to management and peers in the context of business priorities and needs. Experience with Workday strongly preferred. Self-motivated; takes initiative to perform further analysis when deeper insights can be achieved. Work arrangement Hybrid work at Stripe. This role is available either in an office or a remote location (35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office). In-office expectations: Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in their local office or with users to balance in-person collaboration with flexibility. Remote work: A remote location is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from an office. You may come into the office for meetings or events, but the expectation is to regularly work from home. Stripe does not cover relocation costs. Apply for roles that match your current or planned location. Compensation and benefits The annual US base salary range for this role is $202,900 - $304,300. For sales roles, the On Target Earnings range includes base salary plus target commissions. This range may be narrowed during the interview process based on experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants outside the US may request the salary range for their location during the interview process. Additional benefits may include equity, company bonus or commissions, 401(k), medical/dental/vision, and wellness stipends.
