Overview Head of Sales at Avatar Buddy, LLC. Location: Flexible / Remote. Reports to: CEO. Compensation: Equity-heavy package + competitive commission; limited base salary until key milestones are met. Avatar Buddy is making AI work for the real world. We are early but scaling fast, with 30+ customers, a growing ARR base, and expanding opportunities in mid-market and government sectors. The Role This is not a traditional sales job. As Head of Sales, you’ll be a true partner in Avatar Buddy’s growth journey. You’ll have significant autonomy to shape our sales strategy, own revenue outcomes, and step into a leadership role that drives the trajectory of the business. You’ll start as a player-coach: personally closing deals while architecting a repeatable sales motion. As traction builds, you’ll scale a team around you and take the reins as the company’s commercial leader. Key Responsibilities Build & Lead Sales Strategy: Own the sales cycle from qualification and discovery through pricing and closing. Set sales KPIs, pipeline metrics, and forecasting discipline. Drive Revenue: Lead from the front and close new business directly while building early momentum. Partner Across the Business: Collaborate with Customer Success for seamless handoff and delivery; provide feedback to product and AI advisors to influence roadmap; work with Marketing to drive pipeline and brand presence. Scale the Function: Manage 2 current BDRs; recruit and mentor AEs/BDRs as the playbook proves; build a culture of accountability, creativity, and mission focus. Qualifications Proven success leading sales in early-stage startups, ideally in tech-enabled services. Track record of selling to mid-market or government customers. Experience creating and scaling a sales motion from $0–$10M ARR. Strong consultative selling and deal-closing skills. Comfortable in a high-equity, low-base, commission-driven role. Entrepreneurial mindset: thrives in ambiguity, self-directed, scrappy. Bonus: Familiarity with AI, data, compliance, or mission-critical enterprise software.
