One of my clients is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to drive the strategy, design, and delivery of secure, scalable, and reliable infrastructure. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership, overseeing a DevOps team while solving meaningful challenges in deployment, monitoring, automation, and operationalization of large-scale systems.

Hybrid (2 Days per Week) - Boston, MA

Responsibilities

Lead the design, implementation, and management of scalable and secure infrastructure (cloud and on-premise).

Build, mentor, and guide a high-performing DevOps team; provide technical leadership and career development.

Drive DevOps strategy, tooling, and automation across development, testing, and production environments.

Architect, build, and optimize CI/CD pipelines

Implement and enforce Infrastructure as Code

Monitor and improve systems performance, availability, and reliability; implement observability best practices (metrics, logs, alerts).

Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for outages or performance issues.

Ensure security best practices and compliance across infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD workflows

Collaborate with development, QA, operations, security, and product teams to streamline deployments and deliver end-to-end solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

10+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Systems Administration.

2+ years in a leadership role (team lead, manager, or principal-level).

Strong expertise in AWS

Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (Python, Bash)

Expertise with CI/CD frameworks and automation tooling

Solid understanding of networking, security, and observability tools
