Role - Data Architect Slalom Data Engineering discipline is focused on injecting intelligence into products, engineering systems that support learning and insight, and creating innovative data products. Within Data Engineering we help customers build world-class products through effective use of: Data Engineering consisting of streaming / real-time data solutions, modern data platforms and data systems within products (i.e., database systems, graph databases, key-value stores, document databases and transactional systems) Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence What You’ll Do Slalom Data Engineering discipline is comprised of passionate, flexible technologists who love to practice and hone their craft. As a Data Architect for Slalom, you will work in small, collaborative teams with minimal oversight and direction to design and deliver innovative solutions on Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform using core cloud data warehouse tools, distributed processing engines, event streaming platforms, and other modern data technologies. You will build the next generation of data platforms and work with forward-thinking organizations in data and analytics. You will typically be responsible for understanding the client’s current environment and technical challenges, as well as their plans for evolving or creating their future state architecture. Using your knowledge, architecture expertise, and ability to facilitate working design sessions with Slalom and client technical teams, you will lead the analysis, architecture, design, and development of the client’s next generation Data Platform Solution. You will leverage your communication skills to describe the pros and cons of your solution design and drive consensus between Slalom and client teams. You are experienced at breaking down complex development tasks and will be responsible for the timely, quality completion of development items, ensuring they support the technical solution you designed. As time allows, you will participate in pre-sales activities including helping define an approach to solving a prospect’s technical challenges and helping the business development team estimate and plan projects to address those challenges. You will work in a hybrid environment, with expectation to be in-person with Slalom teams and clients as needed. You must be within commutable distance to one of Slalom’s listed office locations. What You’ll Bring As a Data Architect in the Data Engineering discipline, you will bring broad experience in architecture design, deep expertise in one or more data engineering technologies, a curious mindset for client engagements, a thirst for knowledge, and a hunger for fearless experimentation to meet clients’ data challenges. You are a self-starter, effective in breaking down large problems, and you regularly share learnings with others within your projects and the broader Slalom Build community. Compensation And Benefits Slalom invests in benefits that support both work and life, including meaningful time off and paid holidays, parental leave, 401(k) with a match, health/dental/vision coverage, adoption and fertility assistance, short/long-term disability, and wellness reimbursements. The base salary for this position ranges from $125,000 to $187,500 depending on experience and location, with eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation varies by skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other factors.
