Position Summary The Manager, Finance Business Partner (MFBP) will play a critical role in driving the financial strategy and performance of Bridgespan for a portfolio of its Business Units. The MFBP will work with cross-functional and cross-geographic teams to provide actionable insights and support strategic decision-making. The role includes grant tracking and reporting, preparation of financial elements of grant proposals, and participation in the annual budget process, including maintaining the budget model and communicating insights to internal customers. This individual contributor role reports to the Director of Global FP&A in the Eastern time zone in North America. Responsibilities and Duties Financial Business Partner (40%) Act as a point of contact for the assigned Business Units to ensure timely and accurate financial information and guidance on finance related processes. Develop a deep understanding of the business model for the assigned Business Units and stay current on key drivers that may affect financial performance. Maintain an updated overall financial summary and projection for the assigned Business Units. Lead meetings with key stakeholders to collect financial information, clarify details, and inform on financial performance. Perform regular financial forecasts and advise budget holders on key deviations from the budget. Lead the annual budget process for an assigned portfolio of Business Units. Complete ad-hoc deep-dive analyses and provide actionable insights to guide decision making for assigned Business Units. Financial Planning and Reporting (40%) Contribute to the development of global annual budgets, multi-year financial forecasts, and scenario planning to support strategic initiatives and long-term goals. Participate in preparing budget templates for the annual budgeting process. Assist the Director of Global FP&A and VP of Finance & Risk Management in preparing management financial reports and board materials. Review budget-to-actual data and conduct variance analyses to ensure accuracy and recommend reclassifications where necessary. Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual budget-to-actual reports for leadership. Participate in grant proposals by preparing budgets, monitoring grant spending per grant agreements, and preparing financial reports to clients and senior leadership. Financial Systems and Process Improvements (20%) Document existing financial processes and contribute to ongoing improvements. Recommend improvements to budgeting, reporting, and forecasting processes and financial models as needed. Identify opportunities for financial process improvement and simplify existing financial spreadsheets. Contribute to the design, implementation, testing, and rollout of the ERP system. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance is required. 5+ years of relevant FP&A experience; NGO/social sector experience is a plus. Experience in grant financial reporting. Familiarity with standard accounting principles. Strong proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools, including Excel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems; experience in a multi-geographic context is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently and as part of a team. Ability to interact with colleagues and clients at all levels; high professional maturity, tact, and confidentiality. Location and Remote Work This is a primarily remote position on the US east coast and requires travel within the US up to 4 times per year (2-4 days per quarter).
