Overview US – Tax – Indirect Tax Technology and Transformation – Senior Manager - Tax Platform Engineer. Responsibilities As a senior manager you\'ll continuously enhance your proficiencies in the design, promotion and delivery of major technology tools, including application development, data acquisition and transformation, and data analytics and visualization/reporting. You\'ll work side-by-side with tax-technical subject matter professionals (SMPs) to develop and deploy data and technology solutions that enable our tax-technical SMPs to efficiently and effectively deliver quality tax consulting, with timely and responsive services and work products that meet and/or exceed client expectations. Your Key Responsibilities Challenge the effectiveness of the tax technology strategy and approach for all engagements while developing strong relationships across a network of existing and future clients and key stakeholders. Identify opportunities for the use of technology to accelerate and enhance delivery of indirect tax services and actively participate as a member of pursuit teams and service delivery teams supporting various client projects. Work with executive-level stakeholders, develop transformative solutions, and foster deep client relationships. Contribute toward developing a technically diverse and talented team, focusing on quality and commercial value. Skills And Attributes For Success Demonstrate forward-thinking, self-motivation, and adaptability to learn new skills. Collect and document engagement team and client feedback; identify market events such as new client needs and competitor activity. Develop or enhance proficiency in the use of major technology tools. Drive overall deployment of technology services through active participation in pursuit and client service engagement teams. Monitor performance of technology services and communicate to leadership. Monitor competitive and client feedback and needs and communicate with leadership to develop appropriate responses, products, or communications. Provide input into thought leadership; deliver high-quality work products within expected timeframes and budget. Monitor progress, manage risk, and keep key stakeholders informed about progress and outcomes. Manage and motivate client engagement teams with diverse skills and backgrounds. Take ownership of assigned tasks, including documenting requirements, configuration, testing, debugging, project profitability, and tax systems and process configuration. Identify ways to automate manual tasks using existing financial or tax systems and emerging technologies. Ensure architecture is aligned with organizational technology and business strategy; ensure compliance with architecture standards and integration of building blocks; define robust architecture for new applications and releases. Gather requirements to formulate architecture and arrive at mutually acceptable solutions. Qualifications A bachelor\'s degree in technology, information science, accounting, or finance and a minimum of 7 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree with approximately 6 years of related work experience. Approved technical certification, CPA license or membership to a state Bar. Hands-on technical experience with architecting and delivering innovative, data-driven solutions using modern analytics and AI technologies. Experience with developing solutions using Microsoft Azure, IBM watsonx, or Databricks stack. A strong interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies and leveraging them to optimize and transform business processes. Experience designing and developing scalable, high-performance databases, particularly using Microsoft SQL Server, to support robust analytics and data-driven decision-making. Strong communication skills in managing executive stakeholders, framing value propositions, and influencing strategic decisions. Ability to communicate complex technology architecture clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership and clients. Adaptive mindset for evolving customer needs, market conditions, and technology trends. Strong organization and time management skills; ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment. Leadership experience with cross-functional project teams, mentoring, and fostering a culture of high performance and innovation. Implemented software development best practices to ensure delivery of quality, maintainable, and scalable solutions. Ability to travel as required to support client engagements.
